Self-Employed Persons Program

A Self-Employed Person is defined as a foreign national who has relevant experience and has the intention and ability to be self-employed in Canada, and to make a significant contribution to specified economic activities in Canada.

 

Eligibility Criteria fo the Self-Employed Persons Program

 Self-employed persons are required to have Relevant Experience, defined as:

  • Cultural Activities or Athletics Experience: Applicant must have experience, participating at a world class level in cultural activities or athletics. The applicant is expected to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada; or
  • Farm Management Experience: Applicant must have the intention and ability to purchase and manage a farm in Canada.
